Your New Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, as the Tax Manager you will join the existing tax compliance and reporting team in preparation, review, and monitoring of tax compliance and reporting obligations in respect of the non-US operations in over 30 territories internationally, with a particular focus on the APAC region.
The main roles and responsibilities for this position will include the following:
- Manage regional businesses’ compliance with US GAAP & regional tax accounting rules
- Manage, maintain, and review tax calculation templates, FIN 48 calculations and SOX 404 documentation
- Monitor and manage variances between the tax provision and tax return for international businesses
- Review and update business models (forecast financial models) and analyse their impact on worldwide group tax position
- Manage group summaries by business line and by territory and assist with the review, analysis, and consolidation of tax data required to be reported to the head company
- Review intercompany royalty calculations and manage the impact on tax reporting and compliance
- Preparation and analysis of Country by Country reporting data
- Management of tax compliance process for APAC territories (and potentially other worldwide entities), including preparation and review of tax provisions, tax disclosures, and tax returns over time-sensitive timeline
- Management and coordination of BEPS compliance including Country by Country reporting notification
- Support and advise businesses on various tax issues as and when they arise
- Work with and advise the UK and US corporate, compliance & reporting, indirect tax and transfer pricing tax team members of tax and commercial issues and initiatives arising in or related to the Asia Pacific region.
What You’ll Need
We would love to talk to you have trained within the Big 4/Mid Tier and have CA or ACA equivalent qualifications
You will also be able to demonstrate experience with:
- At least 8+ years post-qualification corporate tax experience
- Must have a strong tax accounting skillset and experience with the ability to prepare and analyse tax calculations, tax accounting, and tax notes
- Strong corporate tax compliance background with experience in large multinational groups
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax (and other APAC territories desired)
- Awareness of international tax issues
- Professional qualification in accounting (CA/ACA or equivalent).
- Proactive, well organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to multi-
- Excellent communication skills, especially in communicating tax concepts to a non-tax audience and finance teams in overseas territories.
