Working with a family group of private entities that encompasses share investments, properties, and hospitality businesses, we have an opportunity for an exceptional Junior Accountant to work with an incredible family business and deliver upon strategic and daily accounting goals
Day to Day
Reporting to the CFO, this is a 12-month fixed contract with a view to become ongoing.
As the Junior Accountant, you will work in the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the Group. It's ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-curious Junior Accountant looking to grow their skills in a high-calibre, multi-entity environment. The focus is on accuracy, accountability, and openness to learning, particularly with agile financial systems and modern accounting tech stacks.
The main roles and responsibilities for this position will include the following:
- Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities (companies, trusts, and individuals).
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare reconciliations and working papers to support BAS, IAS, and tax return preparation.
- Assist in the preparation of cashflow summaries and management reports.
- Assist in the preparation of financial data for external accountants and advisors.
- Support entity-level compliance (ASIC, ATO, SMSF, and trust reporting).
- Assist family members with finance related administration tasks
- Track supplier payments and manage approval workflows.
- Support CFO on ad hoc finance projects and assist with process documentation.
You'll Need
We would love to talk with candidates who have 2-3 years experience in a private family environment or from a professional firm
You will also be able to demonstrate experience by having:
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce.
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Tech-comfortable and curious mindset.
- Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
