With a headcount of 500+ across Sydney, LA and Europe and backed by an international media group, this business creates incredible content that is seen and loved around the world.
This newly defined Director of Finance role is a key member of the executive leadership team, working alongside the CEO and Board to drive the financial strength, growth and direction of the company. It’s big, strategic, commercial and hands-on. You’ll lead the full finance function, own group-level reporting, compliance, governance and planning, and bring data and insight to critical creative and commercial decisions across the studio.
Day to Day
This is a broad role overseeing all financial operations, reporting, compliance and strategy, with full accountability for financial health across the business.
You’ll partner with leaders in Production, Technology and HR, and collaborate closely with non-Executive Directors on board and investor-level priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting
• Monthly reporting and board-level financial presentations
• Oversight of local and international tax, audit, and statutory compliance
• Commercial input into investment, CAPEX/OPEX and resource planning
• Cash flow, treasury and risk management
• Leading a high-performing finance team across multiple global offices
• Driving process improvement and financial systems upgrades
• Partnering across business units to provide commercial insights and financial modelling
• Supporting the CEO with reporting to Board members
You’ll Need
We’re looking for a CA or CPA qualified senior finance leader with 10+ years of experience in a complex, high-growth business ideally from Media/Entertainment or Creative/Toys background with international entities and multi currency operations exposure
. Ideally, you’ll bring:
• Solid leadership in a group finance or divisional Head of Finance role
• Deep understanding of strategic and operational finance
• Commercial acumen and experience influencing at board level
• Strong ERP and reporting systems knowledge – Dynamics 365 and PowerBI a bonus
• Sharp communication skills and the ability to translate numbers into strategy
