Working with a family group of private entities that encompasses share investments, properties, and hospitality businesses, we have an opportunity for an exceptional Group Accountant to work with an incredible family business and deliver upon strategic and daily accounting goals
Day to Day
Reporting to the MD, the Group Accountant will work in the day-to-day management of the entities and external accounting partners to provide analytical reporting to the business and the completion of the monthly close process. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate, and energetic person, to join our collaborative and experienced team.
The main roles and responsibilities of this position will include the following:
- Regular reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Manage the group BAS lodgements across a number of entities
- Assistance with the month-end financial close, including the creation of journals and support for provisions and accruals.
- Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support for the completion of statutory requirements and Audits including statutory accounts; Tax returns; BAS statements and withholding tax certificate requests.
- Weekly creditor payments
- Monthly debtor/rent payment monitoring
You’ll Need

You will also be able to demonstrate experience by having:
- Analytical mindset and strong financial accounting knowledge.
- Understanding of accounting for various types of business structures: sole trader, partnership, trust, company, and super funds
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects
- Will be results oriented and will do what it takes to get the job done with attention to detail
