Global product, platform and services company who exclusively partner with AWS are fast-growing and seeking a Site Reliability Engineer based in Melbourne. Fantastic opportunity to work with key enterprise clients in a customer-facing role.
  
Your New Role

• Enhance availability, performance and stability of services as well as automating away repetitive work.
• Provide performance tuning/recommendations for services and infrastructure
• Respond to alerts to investigate issues in our services that you can really sink your teeth into.
• You will be working on production environments, monitoring, data collection and configuration management, as well as disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, reliability improvement initiatives and platform automation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a live production environment (Java microservices on a container orchestration platform - ECS, EKS)
• Scripting and software development across one or more programming languages
• Monitor distributed systems that support millions of transactions 24x7
• Developing and maintaining configuration management and orchestration systems such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
• Reporting and relevant documentation including Postmortems, Production Readiness Reviews, Playbooks

  
What You’ll Need

• DevOps experience with automated provisioning/config Mgmt. with Ansible, Linux based systems with demonstrable experience creating and maintaining infrastructure as code
• Software development with Java or experience deploying and running Java applications in production is essential
• Experience with a scripting language like Python, Go etc. with work you can show/ talk to us about!
• AWS experience - CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, EKS, Elasticsearch, VPCs, RDS, DDB, SNS etc
• Experience and understanding of continuous delivery (Automated Build - Maven), Deployment and Testing
• Very strong with Git, Nexus/Artifactory and Jenkins
• Excellent communicator with consulting experience
• Works comfortably in an Agile environment
